Effective January 1, 2016, an additional fee of $30 will be assessed for each student taking the paper examination. There are no additional fees for students that take the computer based exam. In the event that paper examinations must be administered, due to technical difficulties, the fee will not be assessed.

This 14-hour course, followed by a two-hour examination, is an advanced look at the design and installation of intrusion systems. Students learn how to select and install proper equipment in a variety of intrusion system applications. The course provides basic electronics instruction and how it pertains to system design, component selection and troubleshooting, as well as information on system testing, commissioning and project management.

Certification(s) available: Individuals holding a Certified Alarm Technician Level I for a minimum of 24 months, and who successfully complete the Advanced Intrusion Systems course and the Fire Alarm Installation Methods course are eligible for certification as a Certified Alarm Technician Level II – formerly known as an Advanced Alarm Technician.
