Larry Mann

What is your background in the industry?

Worked for a UL listed Installation, Service and Monitoring Company. Started in the industry in 1974 as a part-time installer, worked through all of the job titles of technician, technical support, sales account manager, marketing manager, project manager and system designer until my retirement in 2017.

What would you consider to be your specific area of expertise?

I am very versed in all aspects of the industry but the last twenty five years was spent in the field of commercial fire alarm systems.

Why have you invested your time in being a NTS Instructor?

After attending my first NTS class, I realized that proper training was paramount to all of the people entering the industry. I wished that I had known about the classes previously and I wanted to make sure the technicians coming after me had the opportunity to learn the important basics that the NTS classes provide.

What does it mean to you to teach others your craft?

I hope that the material presented in the class will help the attendees become more professional and enable them to be successful in this industry. It is a wonderful feeling to see the light of understanding in the students face when they learn from the class material. That feeling is what makes teaching the classes fun and fulfilling as an instructor.
