The Electronic Security Association is pleased to announce that we are an approved Examination Entity for Alarm licensure by the Oklahoma Department of Labor. The Certified Alarm Technician Level I exam* meets the requirements for the OK Residential Burglar and Fire Technician/Salesperson exam and the OK Commercial Burglar and Fire Technician/Sales. For those wishing to get a Commercial license they must take the CATI exam PLUS the Fire Alarm Installation OK exam.

Price includes 400 page manual and proctored exam that must be taken at a PSI testing center.

The Certified Alarm Technician Level One course is the industry standard for learning all facets of the alarm industry. This course presents an overview of the theory, installation and maintenance of alarm systems, basic electricity, standards, perimeter detection, space detection, fire systems, control panels, communications, CCTV, job planning, and false alarm prevention. By the end of this course, students will have an understanding of the industry and their role within it, understand the importance of codes and standards and how to locate them and apply them, be able to define basic installation procedures, and compare the underlying technology behind the various security system tools and equipment.

Please be aware that if you need to use this course for Oklahoma licensing or towards one of ESA’s certifications you will need to take the Oklahoma Level I proctored exam at a PSI testing facility located within the state of Oklahoma. This is an 85 question multiple choice exam that meets the OK Department of Licensing requirements towards licensure.

Cancellation Policy:

If the student has completed less than ¼ of the course and a request is made to cancel, a refund is available less a 25% administrative fee. Students may choose to transfer their funds to another ESA/NTS provided course if less than ¼ the course has been completed. Transfers will not be issued until the class materials, including the course manual, is returned in like new condition to ESA/NTS. Fund transfers cannot be made to non-ESA/NTS courses due to the varied payment terms established by the Training Providers. Cancellation requests made beyond one-quarter through the course will not be refunded or transferred.

Returned items should include a letter regarding the nature of the return, include the student’s name, telephone number and email address.
