Training Requirements for Tennessee:

Regulatory agency: Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance-Alarm Systems Contractors Board

Electronic Security Association-National Training School is a nationally recognized training program, currently approved by the Tennessee Alarm Systems Contractors Board. NTS is approved for Qualifying Agent training courses by the Board for the purpose of Qualifying Education in the Fire Installation, Burglar Installation, and CCTV Installation.

NOTE: With initial application for licensure, Qualifying Agents must provide a photocopy of certificates of completion for approved course(s) to qualify for the classification(s) in which you are applying. [T.C.A. 62-32-313(a) (3)]

Continuing Education

Qualifying Agent-

In order to renew the licensee must provide proof of the required sixteen (16) hours of continuing professional education obtained during the two (2) year period since issuance or the previous renewal.

Fire Alarm

For fire alarm licensure, the qualifying agent must complete a course in fire alarm installation and monitoring prior to the first renewal of such license unless this certification was presented for approval of initial licensing. For purposes of meeting this requirement, the individual must obtain certification by a national training program approved by the Board for qualifying education in the fire alarm classification. RULE 0090-05-.01(4)
