COURSE DESCRIPTION
Join us at ESX on Wednesday June 15 in Fort Worth, Texas. This course is FREE for all ESX registrants! This special ESA National Training School course will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center during the ESX show. These 4 hours of training will provide installation technicians with some of our most popular video system design concepts, plus 1 hour of NEC content – to help Texas license holders get their required hours of CEUs.
Make a day of it and stay after class to visit the expo floor to check out the latest new technologies and devices offered by top vendors in the industry. Hour 1 & 2: Video – Auxiliary Equipment, System Design and Recording
Learn the skills necessary to consult with a customer regarding their goals for a network video surveillance system. This is an excellent course for those needing to hone their video installation expertise.

Hour 3: Video – Transmission Media
This section will provide installers, service technicians, and salespeople with the practical knowledge needed to address different transmission media, transmission media strength, limitations, and applications.
Topics:
- List types of transmission methods and the benefits of each.
- Identify all types of cable and connectors as well as identify which is the best choice to ensure a quality signal per the distance, a quality connection, and why.
- Explain core requirements of structured cabling.
- Describe and list the most commonly used types of wireless media.
- Label and describe types of media converters.
Hour 4: Overview of NEC
This section will provide a thorough overview of the various sections of NFPA 70, also known as the National Electrical Code, that apply to alarm systems.
