Its National Training School (NTS) ranks as the leading provider of classroom training, online courses, and certifications for the ever-evolving Electronic Security and Life Safety Industry. In keeping with this commitment, ESA now offers the industry’s only customizable In-house Employee Onboarding and Staff Development Program. This ESA Training as a Service (TaaS) program is an in-house training platform designed to fast-track new hires and existing employees.
TaaS’ buildable curriculum covers coursework spanning technical training, safety skills, and topical industry trends that a participating company can customize to meet their individual needs. Providing a convenient training option, TaaS courses are offered online with reporting features to allow supervisors to track the progress of employees. Everyone from entry level, intermediate, and advanced employees can benefit from TaaS programming to hone communication and safety skills as well as glean industry knowledge that meets state licensing requirements.
Guardian Protection recently purchased a large-scale ESA TaaS program following a meeting with ESA reps to discuss options for a large-scale adoption of the various training programs.

Bradley explains that they identified several key training programs, ranging from ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 (CAT) to Level 2, ESA Certified Service Technician (CST), and several other courses that Guardian Protection has interwoven into its multi-year career development plan for field service and installation technicians. Over one hundred of their team members are actively participating in online training. Bradley reports that the participants appreciate the investment and share the company’s vision to create the industry’s most educated and capable tech force.

- Certified Alarm Technician Level 1
- Communication Strategies
- Workforce Skills
- 26 Hours of Elective Training Courses Available
Electives customizable to your business: Cabling, Networking, Wireless Systems, Troubleshooting, Safety
Upon completion of Tier 1 students will receive:
- ESA Systems Technician Completion Certificate
- Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 Certification
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification
TIER 2
INTERMEDIATE SKILLS | 6 – 18 MONTHS EMPLOYMENT
80 Hours of Training Including:
- Troubleshooting, Service and Maintenance
- NTS Technical Courses
- Workforce Skills
- 32 Hours of Elective Training Courses Available
Electives customizable to your business: Networking, Codes, Wiring, Customer Service, Safety
Upon completion of Tier 2 students will receive:
- ESA Systems Specialist Completion Certificate
- Troubleshooting, Service and Maintenance Course Completion Certificate
- Additional Course Completion Certificates
