I worked as a technical surveillance specialist (detective rank) with the NYC Police Dept, then as a security engineering officer with the US Department of State. I opened an alarm company in 1985, sold it in 1998, and returned to engineering. I currently work with an engineering group, specializing in fire protection systems (alarms, sprinkler and suppression) design engineering.

I feel rewarded by being able to pass my knowledge and experience onto others. There’s nothing better than knowing that a new student I worked with just passed their exam and has gotten their license.
