ESA is proud to welcome Houston-based Modern System Concepts as one of its new members. Founded by President/CEO Mark Popkowski in 1998, the company specializes in Access Control, CCTV Surveillance, Fire & Life Safety, and Burglar Alarm systems.  

As Popkowski points out, Modern System Concepts became an ESA member because he recognized that the opportunity to connect with like-minded security professionals and access valuable resources would help them better serve their customers.

“I had recently become more aware of ESA’s extensive benefits and resources,” he says. “After reviewing what ESA offers, it was clear that membership would help us strengthen our operations, support our employees, and deliver even greater value to our customers.” 

Noting that the range of benefits ESA provides is impressive, he adds that “The Security America Insurance program has already been a great resource for us, helping to protect our employees and our business. Looking ahead, I’m especially interested in ESA’s training and certification programs, which will allow our team to keep pace with evolving technologies and maintain licensing requirements. The networking opportunities and Member Savings Program are also very appealing as we continue to grow.” 

With 22 employees, Modern System Concepts plans to take full advantage of ESA’s resources. Popkowski emphasizes that continuing education is important to them, and ESA’s CEU programs will help its technicians maintain their state licenses.

“We’re also looking forward to enrolling employees in specialized training programs to sharpen their skills in access control, surveillance, fire, and life safety technologies.” 

Popkowski also plans to attend future ESA conferences, citing ESX as one of the best ways to stay connected and informed in our field.
