Students who take an online course must take and pass a proctored examination in order to receive validation of the training. This validation is used to attain licensing or for the course to be used for certification. The following steps outline the process for scheduling a proctored exam.
Upon completion of the online course students will receive an email confirming they have completed the online course.
ESA/NTS will also be notified that the student completed the course.
ESA/NTS will register the student into the Proctored exam. Please allow 24 hours M-F.
Student/Candidate will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule the exam with our proctoring provider, ProctorU.ProctorU uses web–based testing so student will need a web camera and microphone. If this equipment is not available, the student may request testing at a physical location. NOTE: Ebooks are not permitted at physical testing sites so purchasing a hard copy manual is required.

Student takes the exam and at the conclusionisnotified immediately if they passed or failed.
ESA/NTS processes completion and issues the candidate’s certificate. This certificate is available on the students ESA learning portal.
ESA/NTS processes completion and mails out candidate certificates.
If you are taking the Proctored exam at a physical location, there will be additional processing time from when you complete the exam and when your certificate will be available for download. Additional information regarding the examination scheduling, registration, and testing procedures for physical exam locations can be found in the ESA Candidate Information Bulletin.
PLEASE NOTE: If the student fails the exam, they may request a re-exam from ESA/NTShere. Students may take the exam a maximum of 3 times. All exams, including re-exams, must be completed within 6 months of course completion.
