COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course, followed by a two-hour examination, provides broad training for attendees to learn proper installation and service requirements for commercial fire alarm systems based on NFPA and ICC codes.
NFPA now requires that fire inspection and testing personnel be knowledgeable and trained, and that service personnel be qualified and experienced. This course provides the information needed for installers and service technicians to become familiar with fire alarm system requirements necessary to gain certification and prove competence.
This course will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to: install and maintain fire alarm systems that comply with NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 and properly service and maintain those systems.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A VIRTUAL LIVE CLASS
This is a live instructor-led class that is held virtually. This course will allow you to get the full benefit of a live instructor teaching a course without the travel time or expense. You are able to interact with the instructor and ask questions all from the comfort of your home or office. In order to participate, you are required to have the following equipment:
- Computer or tablet with high-speed internet
- Webcam (Daily attendance will be taken and the instructor must have a visual of you during the entire class)
- Full audio via phone or computer (Computer audio requires a microphone)
- Quiet place to access the online course that provides little to no distractions.
Please be aware that if you need to use this course for licensing or towards one of ESA’s certifications you will need to take the proctored exam with a verified proctoring service. Once you complete the course, you will be provided instructions on where and how to take your proctored exam. Please notify us if you do not receive this email in 2 business days. The exam will be open book, using your course manual and is compiled of 50 multiple choice questions. You must pass the exam with a 70% or higher. You will have six months to successfully complete the exam process.

If you need to use this course for licensing or towards one of ESA’s certifications, you will need to take the LA FAIM proctored exam with one of our testing providers.
Online Courses:
If the student has completed less than ¼ of the course and a request is made to cancel, a refund is available less a 25% administrative fee. Students may choose to transfer their funds to another ESA/NTS provided course if less than ¼ the course has been completed. Transfers will not be issued until the class materials, including the course manual, is returned in like new condition to ESA/NTS. Fund transfers cannot be made to non-ESA/NTS courses due to the varied payment terms established by the Training Providers. Cancellation requests made beyond one-quarter through the course will not be refunded or transferred. Refunds should be expected within thirty days of receipt of returned materials.Live In-Person and Virtual Courses
Provider Cancellation Policy: Training Providers may cancel a class with at least 5 calendar days’ notice to pre-registered students. Classes may be cancelled without advance notice due to weather conditions or other unforeseeable emergencies. The Training Coordinator determines the conditions that constitute an emergency. All monies paid to the Training Provider for a class that is cancelled shall be fully refunded within 14 business days of the cancellation notice. Students may choose to have their monies credited towards another scheduled class. Students should contact the Training Provider for additional terms and conditions regarding their refund policy. Student Cancellation Policy: If a student cancels an ESA National Training School course more than seven days prior to the class, a refund, less a 25% administrative fee, will be issued. In lieu of canceling, a student can opt to transfer their funds to a future course. There are no refunds or transfers permitted within seven days before the class.Returns should be sent to:
