The Electronic Security Association (ESA) is pleased to announce that the Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s office has approved ESA’s Certified Fire Alarm Designer (CFAD) Level 3 certification as an accepted alternative to NICET Level 3 for fire alarm design requirements. This approval marks another important step in expanding high-quality, accessible credentialing options for life safety professionals. Wyoming Approves CFAD Level 3 as NICET Alternative
ESA’s CFAD level 3 certification is designed to match the rigor and technical competency expected of NICET Level 3, providing professionals with a comprehensive pathway that includes real-world training, advanced code knowledge, and a robust examination process. “We’re excited to see Wyoming recognize the strength of ESA’s National Training School,” says Taylor Criddle, ESA’s Vice President of Advocacy and Public Affairs. “This approval gives fire alarm designers another trusted option to meet state requirements, while supporting workforce growth across the life safety industry.”
Wyoming joins several states, including Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and others that accept ESA’s CFAD certifications as a NICET equivalent. ESA’s National Training School continues to expand its reach, helping technicians and designers meet licensing and regulatory standards nationwide.
