This course is designed to expand and refresh students’ knowledge of the codes and standards that provide regulation and guidance for the electronic security and life safety industry. Codes and standards play an important role in today’s life safety industry. There is no choice but to comply with the codes adopted by the jurisdictions in which integrators design and install. As for standards, they must comply with those referenced by the adopted building codes, as well as those specified in the design documents. Although codes and standards are different, one can’t exist without the other in the life safety industry.
